Thank you very much to everyone that took part in our member survey In December 2020. The BAPM office and Executive Committee wanted to share a few of the key findings and outline some of the actions we are going to put in place in response to the suggestions received.
This BAPM Framework for Practice provides guidance on therapeutic hypothermia for neonatal encephalopathy. The framework covers case selection, parent / carer communication, recommendations for infants who fall outside of current criteria, investigations, network and transport implications, nursing care, prognostication, reorientation of care, follow-up, governance and future research.
MBRRACE-UK have released guidance on the 'Determination of signs of life following spontaneous births before 24+0 weeks of gestation where, following discussion with parents, active survival-focused care is not appropriate.'
