The British Association of Perinatal Medicine welcomes a renewed focus on maternity and neonatal care and we hope that the recently announced rapid independent investigation into maternity and neonatal services will result in sustainable improvements in neonatal and maternity services so that staff can work knowing they are delivering care which optimises outcomes for babies and families.
It is vital that the voices of neonatal professionals and parents and families that have experienced neonatal care are heard during this investigation. BAPM has written to Wes Streeting, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to offer our support and involvement in this work.
BAPM is the professional association for perinatal care in the UK, representing nearly 3,000 staff and families that have experience of neonatal care.
