About NeoFOCUS-UK

NeoFOCUS-UK is a Special Interest Group of BAPM. NeoFOCUS is a multidisciplinary group which exists to promote the safe and effective use of neonatal targeted functional echocardiography and point of care ultrasound (POCUS).

Membership of the group is open to health care professionals who are active in this field and members of BAPM. To join NeoFOCUS please complete log-in to your BAPM account and update your communication preferences to include ‘NeoFOCUS-UK News and updates’ or complete the form at the bottom of the page. Members will be sent a regular newsletter to keep them up date with relevant news as well as opportunities to get involved in the work of the group.

This is a survey for all neonatal clinicians in the UK to understand more about your views on neonatal haemodynamics and neonatologist performed echocardiography. This information will help us to shape the future role and application of neonatal haemodynamics in the UK. The survey is anonymous and should take a maximum of 5 minutes to complete.

Join the committee

NeoFOCUS-UK are currently seeking members to join the committee.

The current vacancies are:

• Trainee representative
• Parents/family representative
• Nurse/ANNP representative

The next set of vacancies will be advertised in January 2025.

Committee members will lead the group throughout the next phase of work. This will include:

• Establishing NeoFOCUS-UK as the expert advisory group or ‘go to place’ for POCUS and neonatal haemodynamics in the UK.
• Developing frameworks for practice on relevant topics
• Delivering educational webinars.

This is a voluntary position with work conducted via virtual meetings. Applicants must be BAPM members and will be appointed for a term of approximately 3 years. To apply, please complete the application form by 15th May 2024. If more than one application is received for any position, then a ballot of NeoFOCUS members will be organised.

To join NeoFOCUS you must be a member of BAPM. There is no additional charge to join NeoFOCUS for BAPM members. Group members details will be shared with the NeoFOCUS committee.
