Registration is now open for this year’s Virtual Prenatal Genetics Short Course. This skills-based course aims to equip midwives and healthcare professionals in prenatal testing settings with the necessary tools to facilitate patients' access to suitable referrals. These tools encompass acquiring family histories, recognising high-risk family backgrounds, navigating genetic testing methods, conducting consent procedures, and honing counselling abilities essential for delivering information and interpreting results.

This year's agenda covers:

•Day 1: Introduction to Basic Genetics and Inheritance
•Days 2 and 3: Testing options in a Prenatal setting
•Days 4 and 5: Impact of a genetic condition
•Day 6: Emotional aspects

This course is designed for midwives, sonographers or other healthcare professionals who wish to gain an introduction or update of prenatal genetics.

*This course will take place over six half day sessions
