BAPM have produced a letter that neonatal staff can share with their trust in support of unrestricted parental access to neonatal units.

BAPM recognises that many Trusts have felt it necessary to reduce visiting in the current pandemic but it must be very clear that parents are partners in caring for their babies and should not be treated as visitors.

The letter from BAPM can be downloaded below. The charity Bliss have also offered to send letters to trust CEOs.

This letter was edited on 14/12/20 to add that BAPM strongly supports the unrestricted presence of parents, together whenever possible, on the neonatal unit.
