Since 2019, BAPM have collaboratively developed five core QI Toolkits to help implement Quality Improvement initiatives. These were designed to target key NNAP measures with use friendly tools, techniques and case studies, signposting to wider resources.

The toolkits for Antenatal Optimisation, Maternal Breast Milk, Optimal Cord Management and Normothermia were all published five or more years ago, and we want these resources to be as topical, meaningful and accurate as they ever were.

To support us in achieving this, BAPM will be issuing each toolkit for membership consultation, one per month throughout the Spring. We'll be starting with Maternal Breast Milk (parts 1 + 2). Please read the core Toolkit, and if you can supporting resources, and tell us how we can update any areas you think need reflection. Is there new evidence out there? Are there great current case studies we could incorporate? The accompanying notes for each toolkit will guide you on the specific questions we'd like to cover, but we're here to listen to any ideas.

We hope that the monthly momentum of toolkits issued will mean we can all identify which will be of most value for us to review as members and professionals. Thank you for supporting this process, it's vital that we continue to deliver resources which support our QI to the best possible standard.
