From January 2024, a concessionary subscription to Infant Journal will no longer be part of the BAPM benefits package.

Due to feedback from members, and in line with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative and organisations such as RCPCH, BAPM does not take support or benefits from organisations that produce or profit from formula milk companies.  We have recently reviewed all our relationships with commercial companies to make sure that they also comply with our most recent policy. Infant journal was not able comply with our policy and on this basis, we have agreed that the journal will no longer be part of the BAPM benefits package.

“BAPM will not enter into an agreement with or accept donations or subscriptions from organisations, individuals or groups that do not share the values of BAPM, or when in the judgement of the Executive Committee receipt of such a donation may compromise its reputation, delivering its mission or lay it open to the allegation of partiality.”  BAPM Interaction with Commercial Companies Policy (2023).

Until now, BAPM members have had the option to subscribe to Infant Journal without incurring additional charge. The annual cost per member to BAPM for a subscription to Infant Journal was £2.60. We will be reviewing membership costs and benefits in due course and would welcome any feedback about benefits that you would like to see provided as part of your BAPM membership.

As a BAPM member, you will receive the November / December issue of Infant as usual and online access will continue to 31st December 2023. Please contact Infant Journal if you wish to take out a personal subscription from 2024.
