Submit an abstract for the 2022 BAPM Annual Conference
Present your work at our Annual Conference.
The abstract portal for the BAPM Annual Conference 2022 is now open for submissions. We are inviting all those working in perinatal medicine to submit an abstract to present their work to delegates.
The conference will bring together delegates from across the field of perinatal medicine including neonatologists, obstetricians, nurses and ANNPs, allied health professionals, midwifes, and many more. This is an opportunity for you to share your recent work with colleagues from around the country and beyond.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts of original work for poster presentations during the virtual meeting.
What we're looking for
There are three categories of abstracts this year, please read the following information carefully to make sure you select the correct category.
Research (original research or secondary literature)
Includes meta-analyses, systematic reviews, randomised controlled trials, cohort or case: control studies, in vitro or animal research, observational research.
Quality Improvement
Includes QI initiatives, service developments, QI literature synthesis and meta-analysis, innovation in healthcare, comparative effectiveness research. A stand-alone audit is considered to be of low significance unless it has generated change which on re-audit can be shown to have shown sustained improvement in care.
Case studies (series or report)
These describe instances of interesting phenomena. The goal is to make people aware of the possibility that this phenomenon might occur, and may include previously unknown or emerging pathologies, or complication of a therapy/intervention.
How to submit your abstract
Your poster should outline a research project, provide an example of best practice or simply share learning from your unit with others at the conference. All abstracts are most welcome!
Your abstract should contain no more than 300 words.

Judging
Every abstract will be peer-reviewed by reviewers and may be selected for oral presentation, poster presentation or the BAPM Committee walk through presentation. Final presentation of accepted abstracts will require registration of at least one author for the BAPM Annual Conference (in-person or virtually depending on the successful abstract).
Successful/unsuccessful abstracts will be announced the week commencing Monday 22 August 2022.
