I joined BAPM in 2018. I had been thinking about it for a long time, and finally got on with it! There are lots of resources available to members, and the chance to inform practice by being involved in and commenting on new frameworks and guidance being published. I love being able to tap into a network of people for advice and to share developments.

At the moment I am working as part of a group with BAPM to develop a career framework for ANNPs. By being part of this, and my additional role as Neonatal Nursing Association executive, I have found it really valuable to be involved in something that I feel passionate about and want to progress. In the future I’d love to see BAPM continue to work closely with the Neonatal Nurses Association and focus on whole perinatal teamworking.

To anyone thinking of joining BAPM I’d say just do it! It’s useful to anyone in Neonatal care, and you won’t regret it.

British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) is registered in England & Wales under charity number 1199712 at 5-11 Theobalds Road, London, WC1X 8SH.
