I was invited to join BAPM as part of a working group looking at care of the late preterm baby in 2017. I was delighted to be asked to contribute to the late preterm guideline as it is an area I feel there could be more done to enhance outcomes for babies and their families. I was really pleased to be part of this group as I think that infant feeding should be woven through all BAPM frameworks. In the future I’d like to be part of an update to the expressing/storing guideline to help reduce inconsistencies throughout the country in this area.

Being part of BAPM has widened my network of like-minded professionals. I really value the country wide approach it provides to reduce variations in practice. It also gives a platform to bounce ideas off each other coming from different view points. To anyone thinking of joining I’d say don’t be scared! Everyone’s input is valued and really important.
