The course is aimed at neonatal and paediatric neurology practitioners both within the medical and nursing profession,  managing infants on cerebral function monitoring. The course explains how to insert CFM electrodes to optimise aEEG recordings.  It explains the basics of trace interpretation, recognition of seizures and artefact particularly in the setting of Neonatal Hypoxic Ischaemic encephalopathy.

The course contains the following modules:

  • What is cerebral function monitoring?
  • How to interpret the cerebral function monitor trace
  • When to commence cerebral function monitoring
  • Case studies
