BAPM is seeking parents / carers whose baby (or babies) had surgery while on the neonatal unit. We are asking the parents to join a working group to develop a framework for practice on the care of extremely premature infants that require surgery. The document will offer a high level approach to care of extremely premature newborn infants before, during and after surgery.

The document will be primarily aimed at the healthcare professionals taking care of the baby and offering recommendations as to how they can best support families around the time of their babies operation.

It is envisaged that this work will take approximately nine months. Parent members will not be expected to attend all meetings but will be asked to contribute their views on the content of the document during the process.

To apply please write to the BAPM office expressing your interest and relevant experience to the topic.

British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) is registered in England & Wales under charity number 1199712 at 5-11 Theobalds Road, London, WC1X 8SH.
