The National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP) Summary report on 2022 data has been published. The report covers key findings and national recommendations relating to the key areas of neonatal care reported by the NNAP.

For results by measure summarised by unit level and network, detailed findings, local actions for improvement, case studies and useful resources please see the Extended analysis report on 2022 data

NNAP has published six new local quality improvement case studies covering antenatal steroid optimisation, the use of non-invasive ventilation to reduce BPD rates, reducing the rates of severe IVH, nurse staffing and ROP screening. These case studies, along with a range from previous years, can be found here.

NNAP Online, the audit’s interactive reporting tool, was updated last month and is active with 2022 data. You can use NNAP Online to view your unit’s results and to compare performance at a unit, network and national level.

As well as 2022 annual results being available on NNAP Online, the audit recently published a new NNAP Data Dashboard, based on 2023 measure definitions, which is updated quarterly. The dashboard can be found here.

Your baby’s care, a guide to the NNAP annual report for parents and carers, is available in English and Welsh and can be found here. This resource, and a new animation, can be shared with families on your unit.
