BAPM is currently working on a self-assessment tool to provide neonatal teams with a framework to help develop their quality strategy. The tool will help you to identify your service’s strengths and weaknesses, and identify areas needing attention based on BAPM’s neonatal service quality indicators. It is hoped that the tool will also make it easier for teams when preparing for external accreditations and reviews such as CQC, CNST, network reviews, NSHE 3 year action plan etc.

We are seeking units to pilot our initial modules on Evidenced Based Care and Parental Partnership in Care. Units will be supported to use a paper-based tool and then complete a survey to feedback to the development group about their experiences using the tool, how useful it is and if / how they would like to see it developed in the future.

Units interested in taking part in the pilot will need to nominate a lead contact to undertake the following tasks:

  • Attend an introductory launch meeting about the tool (15:30 – 16:15, 19 June 2023, Virtual).
  • Organise an MDT meeting to help with preparation for completing the tool.
  • Complete at least one of the trial modules.
  • Complete an evaluation form by 30 September - extended to 10th November

This pilot is now in the final stages and is not signing up new units at the moment.

We are now seeking feedback from the organisations that piloted the tool.

Deadline: 10th November
