BAPM is seeking a member to chair a working group to develop a Framework for Practice on transition to paediatrics for neonatal patients.

The framework will outline a clear process for neonatal graduates that transfer to paediatrics (including all subspecialties and paediatric critical care) to ensure this happens in a coordinated and timely manner for optimal handover and the best longer term outcomes. The document will cover the multidisciplinary input needed, including recommendations for the role of families, in this process.

As chair you will act as project manager to develop this piece of work. You will lead group meetings, retain overall editorial control of the document and act as the main point of contact for the BAPM office. You will be expected to ensure that the project continues in a timely manner and that all group members get a chance to contribute and be heard.

Groups generally divide and conquer the work with individuals or small groups writing a section each. It will then be your responsibility to edit these sections into a coherent single document. The BAPM Office can provide administrative and logistical support for meetings and will set up a Microsoft Teams space for the group to allow you to share documents. The BAPM Office will also provide design support and create a version of the document to be circulated for consultation.

For more information on chairing a working group, see here.

It is expected that frameworks and toolkits will take 6-12 months to develop. Our standard timeline includes 6 virtual meetings although more can be added if needed.

To apply, please complete the application form by 7 May 2024.
