The British Paediatric Surveillance Unit have announced a return to weekly surveillance of neonatal complications of coronavirus disease.

With increasing rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection, BPSU surveillance of neonatal cases (babies < 29 days old in hospital, including postnatal wards) will revert to weekly reporting from early November.

They have thanked clinicians who have already notified cases and urge them to notify any new cases encountered. This will generate a return email with a case report form. They ask that clinicians do take time to fill this in as soon as possible or nominate a colleague to do this.
