Bliss have been writing letters to Trust CEOs in support of unrestricted parental access to neonatal units.

In the wake of Covid-19, parental access to their babies has been limited on many units, causing great distress and harm to both babies and families. To help counter this, Bliss have been offering Letters of Support for units who are struggling to reinstate unrestricted parental access. So far Bliss have sent 17 letters of support to Trust CEOs and have received a number of positive responses: Ormskirk and District Neonatal Unit were able to fully reinstate unrestricted parental access, whilst St Peters and Sheffield Children’s Neonatal Units have been able to significantly increase access for parents following receipt of these letters of support.

If your unit is still struggling with parental access and would like some support in this matter, please email the Bliss team to organise sending a Letter of Support on your behalf.
